Texas Lathing & Plastering Contractors Association

TLPCA is an organization that exists for the promotion of quality methods and practices in the walls and ceilings industry. Since 1952, Association members have provided innovation and leadership in quality workmanship in:

The membership of TLPCA consists of contractors, manufacturers, distributors and other professionals who provide products and services to those in the walls and ceilings industry. The Association provides a wide range of services and resources to its members to help them operate their businesses with greater expertise and profitability.

TLPCA members represent some of the largest and most successful contractors in the walls and ceilings industry in the U.S. Their projects include high-rise condos in Florida and casinos in Las Vegas.

TLPCA, and its affiliate organization, Texas Bureau for Lathing & Plastering has a long history of working with Architects and other Design Professionals, as well as General Contractors and Building Officials, to offer expert advice and consultation. As part of this industry relations commitment, the Bureau provides a one hour AIA-accredited continuing education program for Architects to better understand the composition, advantages and appropriate application of plaster and its related components.

In 2007, TLPCA is introducing a broad-based apprenticeship training program for lathing, plastering and drywall trades. This U.S. department of Labor—certified program will provide desperately needed training for the walls and ceiling industry. Contractors who have employees participating in this program will receive preferential wage rates on Davis-Bacon publics works projects.

Texas Bureau of Lathing & Plastering

The TBLP is a professional organization, established in 1954, dedicated to the education and promotion of quality methods and practices for the lathing and plastering trade. Funding for the TBLP comes from plastering subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers and related service organizations.

The TBLP provides technical information on products and applications to architects, builders, code officials and building owners. Educational seminars and news articles for construction professionals are part of the TBLP ongoing activities. The Bureau staff includes a technical representative to respond to inquiries on plaster applications for new and existing construction projects.
